Unison works to promote health, wellness, and self-sufficiency for the residents of Milwaukee County. She is now under suspicion of misappropriating funds. Unison just celebrated its first anniversary. It was created by the merging of Interfaith and Set Ministries. In addition to running five different senior centers in Milwaukee County, Unison provides caregivers for senior citizens and supports local families with young children. There are 1700 volunteers in all that work with the organization. A statement by a spokeswoman for Unison reads, in part, "This came as a shock to everyone at Unison, and we're taking this matter very seriously. Unison remains committed to its mission of fostering healthier communities, and service to our clients and members will not be disrupted." According to a news release sent in February, one of the organizations that merged to create Unison received a $240,000 grant from the federal government.
